Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Champion a customer- and partner-first approach to building intuitive, intelligent, and compliant document processing and data ingestion solutions that power both consumer (B2C) and professional (B2B) tax experiences.
- Establish and evangelize a clear product vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes for Taxwell’s Document Intelligence Platform
- Communicate product direction, priorities, and impact with clarity and influence across teams, executives, and stakeholders.
- Lead ideation, experimentation, and delivery of next-generation document workflows, improving efficiency for tax preparers, accuracy for taxpayers, and scalability across products.
- Own and continuously evolve the platform roadmap, balancing innovation with reliability, and ensuring alignment with business, technology, and compliance goals.
- Leverage customer feedback, data analytics, and market insights to identify opportunities that reduce friction, increase automation, and elevate the quality of document-derived data.
- Monitor and act on emerging trends in AI, OCR, and data exchange standards that shape the future of document intelligence in tax and financial ecosystems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI, AI/ML, compliance, and product partners to deliver secure, seamless, and high-performing end-to-end solutions.
- Partner with legal, data privacy, and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to all compliance standards and responsible AI practices.
- Serve as a thought leader in intelligent document processing, helping define Taxwell’s strategy for how tax data is captured, understood, and leveraged across B2C and B2B experiences.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5–7 years of product management experience in software, fintech, tax, or financial services with proven success.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills with ability to evolve strategy based on research and data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across technical, business, and compliance functions.
- Experience with agile methodologies and design thinking practices.
- Resourceful, high-energy, and adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and execution.
- Passion for innovation in tax, financial services, and document processing.
Must Haves
- Strong product experience with AI-driven document ingestion/extraction platforms (document classification, data extraction, ingestion into downstream systems).
- AI fluency: Routinely uses LLM/ML tools in production or daily workflows; understands limitations, validation, and how to integrate AI agents into user flows.
- Fast-paced delivery orientation; able to iterate weekly and produce tangible product increments rapidly.
- Experience working with engineers and designers on product development (user stories, backlog grooming, sprint cadence).
- Familiarity with Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar AI tools; comfortable describing how AI is used in each phase of the product process.
- Experience with Jira (or equivalent) and the ability to work with engineering APIs and data pipelines.
